Registered Nurse (RN), Night Shift, Med Surg Oncology

Shady Grove Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med Surg Oncology Department on the night shift. You will provide direct patient care to medical-surgical oncology patients while serving as a mentor and role model to junior nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families through the continuum of care
• Develop individualized plans of care according to patient population
• Identify impending changes in patient condition accurately and initiate corrective action
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective
• Serve as a role model to Level I nurses and mentor students, colleagues, and team members in patient-centered care
• Use electronic resources to support best practices in patient care
• Delegate non-nursing duties appropriately and maximize efficiency and effectiveness
• Conduct efficient literature searches and apply findings to practice
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in evidence-based practice changes
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards of practice

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Passing score on NCLEX
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• Current Maryland State nursing license
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications as required by specialty

Preferred Qualifications

• NICU experience

Schedule

• Employment Type: Full-time
• Hours per Week: 36 hours
• Shift: Night shift, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
• Rotating weekends
• Follow company holiday calendar
• Shift differential eligible

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay Range: $37.00 to $55.00 per hour
