Registered Nurse (RN) NICU

Texas Health Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This is a full-time position working 30 hours per week on the night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM at Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, TX 75231.

Clinical Setting

The NICU is a fast-paced Level III unit providing specialized care for neonates at 22+ weeks gestation. The unit is equipped with advanced technology including cooling systems and high-frequency ventilators. The department maintains a supportive leadership environment that encourages professional development and certification opportunities in high-risk neonatal nursing.

Responsibilities

As an RN in the NICU, you will deliver comprehensive patient care utilizing the nursing process:

• Assess patients and plan individualized care
• Implement appropriate nursing interventions
• Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporate age-specific safety and infection control measures into patient care
• Initiate action to meet patient and family information needs
• Maintain continuity of care across shifts, between hospitals, and during out-of-hospital transfers

Required Qualifications

• Diploma in Nursing or Associate degree from an accredited nursing program
• Active RN license (Registered Nurse) required upon hire
• One year of clinical nursing experience or completion of an RN residency program
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 90 days of hire
• Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRPA) certification required within 90 days of hire
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training required within 90 days of hire and maintained annually

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• One year of NICU experience
