This full-time position is a 12-hour day shift role in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Virtua in Voorhees Township, New Jersey. You will provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill newborns, working as an integral member of the healthcare team to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using evidence-based practice.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
- Administer, monitor, and document therapeutic interventions and treatment regimens
- Manage rapidly changing clinical situations effectively
- Participate in clinical decision-making with the interdisciplinary team
- Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, individual care needs, wellness, and safety issues
- Delegate and monitor care provided by other nursing and healthcare team members
- Demonstrate standard precautions and patient safety principles in all practice
- Participate in orientation, education, and professional development of healthcare team members
- Identify and participate in performance improvement activities
- Maintain professional and departmental competencies
Required Qualifications
- Level 3 NICU experience required
- Valid New Jersey RN license (must be presented and maintained in accordance with State of New Jersey Licensing Board requirements)
- Demonstrated knowledge of nursing skills, hospital practices, procedures, and standards
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to coordinate efforts of a care team
- Commitment to ongoing education and staying current with nursing practice
Schedule
- Full-time position
- 36 standard hours per week
- 12-hour day shifts
- 7 AM start time
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly rate: $44.57 - $60.44 (based on experience, internal equity, and market alignment)
