Registered Nurse (RN) - New Graduate - Ortho Trauma

Join the Orthopedic/Trauma unit at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center as a Registered Nurse (RN) supporting post-surgical patients in a 24-bed specialized unit. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity for new graduate nurses to develop advanced clinical skills in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Clinical Setting

The Orthopedic/Trauma unit (10RT) specializes in comprehensive inpatient care for diverse post-surgical populations. The interdisciplinary team includes Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and Unit Secretaries working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The unit utilizes telemetry monitoring and a variety of medication infusions to support patient recovery.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate patient-centered care using the nursing process, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate treatment aligned with clinical standards
• Apply evidence-based practice and clinical judgment to enhance patient outcomes, safety, and overall experience
• Perform post-operative recovery care including wound and dressing management, chest tube care, and enteral feeding tube management
• Support patient mobility and rehabilitation
• Administer medications and manage infusions

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited or approved nursing program
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Less than one year of RN experience (new graduate position)

Schedule

• Full-time, 36 hours per week
• Day shift

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay range: $38.20 - $57.30 per hour
• Base compensation determined by qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and training
