Join Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center's Hematology/Oncology unit as a Registered Nurse in our 20-bed adult oncology unit (7 Cancer Center East). This full-time position offers new graduates the opportunity to provide comprehensive nursing care for patients recovering from oncological treatments and surgeries, with specialties in gynecology oncology, research therapies, and clinical trials.
Clinical Setting
7 Cancer Center East is a specialized 20-bed unit within Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, a 885-bed tertiary care hospital and National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The unit provides high-quality care across multiple treatment options for oncology patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process
- Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
- Apply evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making in patient care
- Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
Schedule
- Full-time position
- 36 hours per week
- 3 shifts of 12 hours each
- Day shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program
- Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $38.20 to $57.30 per hour
- Base compensation determined by qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and training
