University of Maryland Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) New Graduate for the Neuro ICU with a rotating schedule. This Clinical Nurse I (CN I) position is designed specifically for new graduate nurses or those with less than 12 months of clinical experience.

You will provide direct patient care in a critical care setting while collaborating with interdisciplinary team members. The role focuses on achieving practice readiness, defined as the ability to assess and manage each patient's diverse clinical needs while demonstrating the confidence and competence to safely perform and coordinate the interventions needed to provide equitable, comprehensive patient-centered care. You will remain accountable for professional practice in alignment with the organization's mission, vision, and values.

As part of this role, you will be required to successfully complete all requirements of the organization's Nurse Residency Program and departmental orientation.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse license in Maryland or eligibility to practice through Compact state agreements outlined by the Maryland Board of Nursing
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or higher), or eligibility to sit for the NCLEX. Must pass NCLEX within 90 days of hire
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire. Red Cross BLS is accepted for new hires only
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for nurses caring for adult critical care patients. Must be obtained within 6 months of hire or by completion of unit orientation, whichever is longer

This position is located at a Magnet-designated, nationally recognized academic medical center in downtown Baltimore near the Inner Harbor and Camden Yards.
