Registered Nurse (RN) - New Graduate - Medical Oncology ICU

Join Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist's Medical Oncology ICU, North Carolina's only intensive care unit dedicated exclusively to adults with cancer and blood disorders. This 12-bed inpatient and 2-bed outpatient unit provides advanced, compassionate care for complex oncology and hematology patients in a high-acuity, patient-centered environment.

As a Registered Nurse in this specialized unit, you will deliver comprehensive patient care using evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making. You will collaborate with board-certified intensivists, oncologists, and pharmacists to coordinate care across the continuum, support patient healing and comfort, and create the safest possible patient environment. Your role will focus on therapeutic communication, patient advocacy, and contributing to the unit's culture of innovation and excellence.

Clinical Setting

The Medical Oncology ICU is a specialized intensive care environment within Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, an 885-bed tertiary-care hospital in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The unit serves as part of an integrated clinical system that includes five community hospitals, more than 300 primary and specialty care locations, and more than 2,700 physicians. Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is part of Advocate Health, the third-largest nonprofit health system in the United States.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program
• Active Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process
• Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
• Apply evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making in patient care
• Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary oncology and critical care team
• Support patients and families through complex medical situations
