Select Specialty Hospital - McKeesport is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. This position offers new graduate registered nurses the opportunity to join a supportive clinical team while developing foundational nursing skills in a specialized acute care setting.

Clinical Setting

Select Specialty Hospital - McKeesport is located inside UPMC McKeesport and specializes in caring for patients during critical recovery phases following intensive care. You will work with patients requiring extended healing and recovery support.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with physicians and your preceptor to implement assessment plans, evaluation, and follow-up of patient care plans
  • Conduct ongoing systematic assessment of patients' and families' physical, emotional, social, educational, and functional needs
  • Interpret assessment data to develop nursing care plans that include problem identification, nursing diagnoses, nursing orders, interventions, short and long-term goals, and discharge planning
  • Participate as a productive member of the interdisciplinary team in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of rehabilitation goals
  • Ensure medical records are complete, factual, accurate, and timely

Schedule

  • 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM day shift
  • No rotating shifts
  • Flexibility required to complete program requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program
  • Valid state RN license required at start date (applicants may apply before licensure)
  • BLS certification required at hire
  • Flexibility to complete orientation program requirements
