Registered Nurse (RN) - New Graduate - Cardiac/Neuro

Aurora Medical Center - Grafton is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical-Surgical Cardiac/Neuro Unit (MS2), an 18-bed unit providing specialized care to cardiac and neurological patients. Clinical Setting

MS2 Cardiac/Neuro is a specialized unit focused on cardiac patients, including those with congestive heart failure, pre- and post-cardiac catheterizations, pacemakers, ablations, pre- and post-open heart surgery, and cardiac arrhythmias. The unit also supports the stroke program, providing care to patients with neurological symptoms, stroke, and transient ischemic attack (TIA). Aurora Medical Center - Grafton is a 132-bed facility recognized for its comprehensive specialized services, private patient rooms, and commitment to advanced technology and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
• Apply evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience
• Use skilled communication and compassionate care delivery across the continuum of patient care
• Respond quickly to changing patient conditions and perform patient safety interventions, including verbal de-escalation and restraints when necessary

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program
• Active Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

Certifications Required Within Specified Timeframes

• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required within 6 months of hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 1 year of hire

Schedule

• Full-time position, 0.9 FTE
• Day shift: 7:00 am - 7:30 pm
• Every third weekend and holiday rotation
• 36 hours per week

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay range: $38.20 - $57.30 per hour (based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and training)

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, twisting, and lifting throughout the workday
• Ability to safely lift up to 35 pounds and perform patient handling tasks, including pushing/pulling up to 30 pounds and assisting with 150-pound sliding transfers
• Functional speech, vision, hearing, touch, and fine motor skills for clinical procedures
• Ability to operate equipment foot controls
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, and hazardous waste; appropriate protective equipment must be used
