Registered Nurse (RN)- New Graduate- Burn Unit

Join the Burn Center at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in our 24-bed comprehensive burn unit. This position offers new graduates the opportunity to develop specialized clinical skills in a state-of-the-art facility recognized by the American Burn Association as a verified burn center. As one of only two burn centers in North Carolina, we provide care to all levels of burn patients including pediatrics and adults, as well as other surgical patients such as those requiring plastic surgery, orthopedic, trauma, and urology care.

Clinical Setting

The Burn Center is divided into 16 medical-surgical level beds and 8 ICU level beds. The unit is multi-leveled and comprehensive, offering state-of-the-art care, training, and resources to treat all levels of burns. You will work in a specialized environment where you will develop expertise in wound care management.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process
• Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
• Apply evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making in patient care
• Develop specialized wound care skills including dressing, skin grafting and maintenance, negative pressure wound vac applications, and other wound care processes
• Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to advocate for patient needs
• Uphold professional practice standards to promote optimal health outcomes

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program
• Active Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire

Schedule

• Full-time position
• 35.1 hours per week
• 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. day shift
• Every 3rd weekend with holiday rotation

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay range: $38.20 to $57.30 per hour, based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and training
