Registered Nurse (RN)- New Graduate- Burn Unit

Join the Burns and Plastics Unit at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist as a Registered Nurse in this specialized acute care environment. This 24-bed multi-leveled unit serves as one of only two verified burn centers in North Carolina, recognized by the American Burn Association. You will care for burn patients across all severity levels, including pediatric and adult patients, as well as other surgical patients including those with plastic surgery, orthopedic, trauma, and urologic conditions. The unit is divided into 16 med-surg level beds and 8 ICU level beds.

The Burns and Plastics Unit is a comprehensive, state-of-the-art facility offering advanced wound care and surgical services. As a verified burn center, the unit maintains the resources, training, and expertise to treat all levels of burn injuries.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process
• Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
• Apply evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making in patient care
• Perform specialized wound care including dressing changes, skin grafting and maintenance, and negative pressure wound vac applications
• Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience
• Communicate effectively with patients and the interdisciplinary team

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program
• Active Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of med-surg nursing experience
