The opportunity

Job Description

AdventHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Neuro Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Daytona Beach, Florida. This full-time day shift position offers the opportunity to provide specialized neurological nursing care in an acute care hospital setting while being part of a purpose-driven healthcare community.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a Progressive Care Unit focused on neurological patients, collaborating with an interdisciplinary medical team to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments evaluating physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising as necessary
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely following physician orders and hospital protocols, monitoring for adverse reactions
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance
  • Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care with effective communication and teamwork
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and interventions continuously, making necessary adjustments to improve patient health and achieve positive outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe healthcare environment
  • Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families, addressing emotional and psychological needs
  • Supervise and delegate care provided by members of the healthcare team to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Engage in continuous professional development and participate in performance improvement activities
  • Respond to code situations promptly and effectively, providing necessary interventions to stabilize patients

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Nursing
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Basic Life Support CPR certification
  • Fluency in English (read, verbal, and written skills)
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
  • Ability to work as a team player within a unit
  • Effective verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills with ability to navigate Microsoft Windows-based programs
  • Ability to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes
  • EKG knowledge (based on patient requirements)

Schedule and Shift

Compensation and Bonuses

  • Pay range: $31.85 to $52.76 per hour
  • $15,000 sign-on bonus
  • $3,000 relocation assistance
  • Eligible clinicians have the opportunity to earn salary increases of up to 20% through the Clinical Ladder Program based on experience, professional development, and achievement of advancement criteria (voluntary participation; salary adjustments determined by program eligibility, advancement level, and organizational guidelines)
  • Two-year employment commitment required for sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligibility
