Wellstar is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time night shift position in Medical-Surgical Acute Care, Post-Surgical, Burn, and Bariatric services. This role is part of an interdisciplinary team providing individualized, high-quality, safe patient care in a clinical environment supported by the Wellstar Shared Governance Model and Professional Practice Model.
Responsibilities
- Perform the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practice and critical thinking to ensure individualized care
- Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care adapted to population-specific characteristics including age, gender, disease, and cultural diversity
- Partner with patients and significant others through bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, patient teaching, and goal-focused care planning
- Practice using current clinical practice standards
- Coordinate delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care promoting the professional care delivery model
- Participate in interdisciplinary communication, timely documentation, and maintenance of a respectful, inclusive clinical environment
- Demonstrate fiscal responsibility and support recruitment and retention of healthcare team members
- Participate in and support performance improvement, research utilization, and shared governance activities
- Complete initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population-specific education
- Serve as a preceptor and mentor for other professional nurses and staff or students from all disciplines
- Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement
- Uphold all healthcare system policies, procedures, clinical competencies, legal and regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards including TJC Patient Safety Goals and Wellstar Health Systems safety absolutes
- Participate in data collection and pose relevant clinical questions to advance evidence-based practice
- Proactively plan for patient care across the care continuum
- Participate in development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes
- Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources
- Comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (Single State or Multi-state Compact)
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support or American Red Cross Basic Life Support)
- Completion of accredited or approved school of nursing with requisite clinical hours
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Direct patient care experience
