Registered Nurse RN - Medical Surgical Telemetry

Holy Family Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical Telemetry unit. In this role, you will deliver safe, direct patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will monitor patients on telemetry, respond quickly to changes in clinical condition, communicate with physicians about patient status and diagnostic results, and guide patient and family teaching while supervising other nursing personnel.

Clinical Setting

You will work in the Medical Surgical Telemetry department at Holy Family - LTACH in Des Plaines, Illinois, caring for patients requiring cardiac monitoring and telemetry surveillance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of RN practice
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to changes in patient condition
• Communicate with physicians regarding changes in clinical status, diagnostic study results, and patient symptomatology
• Direct and guide patient and family teaching
• Supervise activities of other nursing personnel
• Maintain standards of care in the Telemetry unit
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment

Schedule

• Full-time position
• 12-hour day shifts
• Rotating weekends and holidays

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license
• Current BLS certification upon hire and maintained throughout employment
• Current ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained throughout employment
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation certification within 30 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous acute care hospital experience
• Ventilator management experience
• Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Compensation and Benefits

Holy Family Medical Center offers competitive compensation with an estimated range of $35.35 to $53.58 per hour. Exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors including skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.

Newly hired RNs are eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for qualified candidates. Eligibility and payout terms apply; details will be discussed during the interview process.
