Grandview Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Medical-Surgical nursing on a 13-week travel contract. This is a night shift position providing direct patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Schedule

  • Shift: Nights, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Alternating weekends
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Projected start date: April 14, 2026

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and administer medications per physician orders
  • Assess patient condition and document changes in electronic medical records
  • Monitor vital signs and escalate concerns to physicians promptly
  • Develop and update individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and track performance metrics
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
  • Coordinate discharge planning and patient education for self-management
  • Mentor and support junior staff and pursue ongoing professional development
  • Maintain high visibility of work activity through timely updates and reporting

Required Qualifications

  • Current RN license in the state of employment
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience in medical-surgical nursing with direct patient care
  • Ability to administer medications accurately per orders and document in EMR
  • Vital signs monitoring with prompt escalation to physicians when needed
  • Participation in care planning, rounding, and collaboration with multidisciplinary team
  • Participation in quality improvement projects and metrics tracking
  • Discharge planning and patient education for self-management
  • Strong time management and ability to work in a fast-paced, on-site environment
  • Permanent address required 50+ miles from facility
