Wellstar is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time Medical-Surgical nursing position working the night shift. This role offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

As an RN Clinical Nurse, you will be a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team providing individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. You will practice within a clinical environment guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, evidence-based practice, and the Wellstar Values. Your practice will be aligned with the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practice and critical thinking to ensure individualized, coordinated care
  • Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care adapted to population-specific characteristics and cultural diversity
  • Partner with patients and significant others through appropriate methods such as bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and patient teaching
  • Practice using current clinical practice standards
  • Coordinate delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care promoting the professional care delivery model
  • Participate in diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication, timely documentation, and maintenance of a respectful, inclusive clinical environment
  • Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration through fiscally responsible practice that supports recruitment and retention of healthcare team members
  • Participate in and support performance improvement, research utilization, and shared governance activities
  • Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population-specific education
  • Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses and staff or students from all disciplines
  • Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement
  • Uphold all healthcare system and organizational policies, procedures, clinical competencies, legal and regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards
  • Participate in data collection and pose relevant clinical questions to advance evidence-based practice
  • Proactively plan for patient care across the care continuum
  • Participate in development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes
  • Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources
  • Comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred)
  • Active RN license (Single State or Multi-State Compact)
  • BLS certification (Basic Life Support or American Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-Instructor)
  • Completion of accredited/approved school of nursing with requisite clinical hours
