Wellstar is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for the Medical-Surgical unit, working day shift. This position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

As an RN Clinical Nurse, you will be a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team providing individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. You will practice within a clinical environment supported by the Wellstar Shared Governance Model and Professional Practice Model, with care guided by evidence-based practice and research.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practice and critical thinking to ensure individualized care
  • Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care adapted to population-specific characteristics and cultural diversity
  • Partner with patients and significant others through bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and patient teaching to keep patients informed and focused on their goals
  • Practice using current clinical practice standards
  • Coordinate delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care through diverse interdisciplinary communication methods
  • Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration in a fiscally responsible manner that supports recruitment and retention of healthcare team members
  • Participate in and support performance improvement, research utilization, and shared governance initiatives
  • Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population-specific education
  • Serve as a preceptor and mentor for other professional nurses and staff or students from all disciplines
  • Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement
  • Uphold all healthcare system policies, procedures, clinical competencies, legal and regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards
  • Participate in data collection and pose relevant clinical questions to support evidence-based practice decisions
  • Proactively plan for patient care across the care continuum
  • Participate in development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes
  • Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources
  • Comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of RN experience required
  • Active RN license (single state or multi-state compact)
  • BLS certification (Basic Life Support or American Red Cross Basic Life Support)
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with excellent customer service abilities
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a decisive, composed, and respectful manner
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Basic computer skills and ability to optimize use of technology to support clinical care

Education

  • Associate degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred)
