Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Medical-Surgical unit at the Edgewood, Kentucky location. This full-time position offers day shift hours from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, working 36 hours weekly.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based clinical care to designated patients utilizing the nursing process
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to established ethical and cultural codes and standards of nursing practice
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes
• Delegate tasks appropriately to other licensed and unlicensed healthcare team members
• Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in all encounters with patients, families, visitors, and employees regardless of cultural background

Required Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• Licensed to practice nursing in the state where work is being performed
• Meet contact hour requirements for licensure, including all state-required courses
• Demonstrate knowledge of nursing theory, clinical practice standards, procedures, and policies
• Competence in mathematical calculations associated with medication administration
• Ability to independently perform safe nursing skills and procedures
• Successful completion of preceptorship and orientation to the facility and clinical area
• Ability to critically think and problem solve in routine and emergency situations

Licenses

• Active RN license in the state where work is being performed
• Compact (multi-state) License in primary state of residence, if eligible

• Day shift: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
• Full-time: 36 hours weekly
