Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the PICC team on the day shift. In this role, you will deliver comprehensive nursing care by developing nursing diagnoses, establishing care objectives, and defining interventions while providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends.
Responsibilities
- Review physician prescriptions and communicate nursing care plans to the healthcare team
- Coordinate with other healthcare providers and confer with physicians regarding patient care
- Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, and documenting physical condition, psychological status, and relevant social factors
- Teach patients, families, and friends about their condition, medications, and self-care skills
- Evaluate patient care by measuring health outcomes against established standards, reviewing patient records, and modifying care plans as needed
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection-control policies, medication administration procedures, and controlled substance regulations
- Document patient care services in patient and department records
- Maintain and troubleshoot patient care equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and manage supplies
- Check equipment stock, anticipate needs, place orders, and verify receipt of supplies

Compensation
- Pay Range: $32.50 - $48.50 per hour (actual rate dependent upon experience)
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (required upon hire)
- Ability to work the specified hours
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
