Wellstar is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Nurse for our Marietta Endocrinology Medical Specialist office. In this role, you will provide individualized, high-quality, safe patient care as a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team. You will work in a day shift, office-based clinical environment supporting patients with endocrinology needs, practicing within the WellStar Professional Practice Model and evidence-based standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practice and critical thinking to ensure individualized, coordinated patient care
- Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care adapted to population-specific characteristics and cultural diversity
- Partner with patients and significant others through appropriate communication methods including bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and patient teaching
- Practice using current clinical practice standards
- Coordinate delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care promoting the professional care delivery model
- Participate in interdisciplinary communication, timely documentation, and maintenance of a respectful, inclusive clinical environment
- Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration through fiscally responsible practice that supports recruitment and retention of healthcare team members
- Participate in and support performance improvement initiatives, research utilization, and Clinical Champion Forum activities
- Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and required mandatory education
- Serve as a preceptor and mentor for other professional nurses and healthcare team members
- Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement
- Participate in data collection and clinical questions to support evidence-based practice decisions
- Proactively plan for patient care across the care continuum
- Participate in development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes
- Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources
- Comply with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct
Required Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia
- RN license (single state) or RN multi-state compact license
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association prior to hire date
- BLS Instructor certification
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a decisive, composed, and respectful manner
- Excellent time management skills
- Evidence-based and analytical nursing practice with strong critical thinking skills
- Basic computer skills and ability to optimize use of technology to support clinical care
Education
- Graduate of an accredited or approved school of nursing (required)
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing (preferred)
Additional Certifications
- ACLS/PALS may be required in some practice areas
- National certification in area of specialty (preferred)
