This is a 13-week travel nursing contract for a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery at an 8-bed rural hospital unit in Granbury, Texas. You will provide full-scope LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) care and work independently in a low-volume, high-acuity setting, transitioning between labor, nursery, and couplet care assignments based on census and staffing needs.

Clinical Setting

You will work in an 8-bed intrapartum unit at a rural hospital using GE Centricity Perinatal (CPN) for perinatal charting, MedHost for orders, charges, and medication scanning. The unit operates with a 1:1 patient ratio during labor and 3:1 ratio for couplet care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive intrapartum management including labor induction and augmentation
  • Interpret fetal heart rate patterns and manage high-risk labor monitoring
  • Circulate cesarean sections
  • Perform immediate newborn stabilization and participate in neonatal resuscitation
  • Conduct routine newborn assessments
  • Provide postpartum and couplet care for stable mothers and infants
  • Function independently in a rural hospital environment
  • Float within Women's Services as needed

Schedule

Nights: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, no call required. This is a 13-week assignment with a projected start date of July 20, 2026. There is no 48-hour option and no block guarantee, though the facility will attempt to accommodate scheduling requests. Maximum time off is 6 days within a 6-week period. You must work one major holiday if your assignment overlaps with a holiday.

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN licensure
  • BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
  • ACLS certification (AHA or ARC)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
  • Ability to circulate cesarean sections
  • Competency in high-risk labor management
  • Competency in Pitocin titration
  • Competency in fetal monitoring interpretation
  • Ability to participate in neonatal resuscitation
  • Competency in postpartum and couplet care

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification
  • STABLE certification
  • Previous rural hospital experience
  • Experience with LDRP model

Additional Information

Scrub color is navy blue or pink. Submissions without required information and qualifications will be rejected.
