Job Description

Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Labor and Delivery department. This is a PRN (as-needed) position with a minimum of 3 shifts per 6-week schedule. St. Vincent Medical Center is a regional tertiary care facility and Level I Adult Trauma Center serving a 150-mile radius of Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care and teaching through the nursing process
  • Direct and guide the activities of other nursing personnel
  • Maintain standards of professional nursing and established organizational policies and procedures
  • Assist in the provision of care to patients of all age groups

Clinical Setting

Labor and Delivery at a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, STEMI Center, and Comprehensive Stroke Center.

Schedule

  • Shift: Days (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM)
  • Hours: PRN as needed
  • Minimum of 3 shifts per 6-week schedule
  • Weekend, holiday, and on-call rotation required per department policy

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university
  • Current Ohio RN licensure
  • BLS certification
  • Other certifications required per department policy
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and skill in nursing theory and practice of the nursing process
  • Must meet criteria established for the specialty unit
