Join Wellstar Health System as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intermediate Care Unit at Cobb Hospital. This full-time night shift position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, individualized patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team. You will work within a clinical environment guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, evidence-based practice, and shared governance principles.

Clinical Setting

You will practice in the Intermediate Care Unit, a setting administered by Nurse Managers and supported through the Wellstar Shared Governance Model. The role requires adherence to the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, the American Nurses Association Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards, and all Wellstar Health System policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practice and critical thinking to ensure individualized, coordinated patient care
  • Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care adapted to population-specific characteristics including age, gender, disease, and cultural diversity
  • Partner with patients and significant others through bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, patient teaching, and goal-focused care planning
  • Practice using current clinical practice standards
  • Coordinate delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care through diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods
  • Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner and promoting a respectful, inclusive clinical environment
  • Participate in and support performance improvement, research utilization, and shared governance activities
  • Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population-specific education
  • Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses and staff or students from all disciplines
  • Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement
  • Participate in data collection and pose relevant clinical questions to support evidence-based practice decisions
  • Proactively plan for patient care across the care continuum
  • Participate in the development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes
  • Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources
  • Comply with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct

Schedule

  • Full-Time, Night Shift
  • 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license (Single State or Multi-state Compact)
  • Minimum 2 years of direct patient care experience
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or equivalent (ARC-BLS or BLS-I)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification or equivalent (ARC-ALS, ACLS-I, or ACLS-P with 180-day provisional period)

Education

  • Associate degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred)

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
