Clinical Setting

The Intensive Care Unit at STRHS-Lawrenceburg is a 99-bed acute care facility located in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, 85 miles south of Nashville. The ICU provides specialized care to critically ill patients using advanced clinical technology and a collaborative care model.

Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • 3x12 hour shifts
  • Night shift (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.)
  • Rotating weekends

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice
  • Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments
  • Document patient care provided
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family as appropriate
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
  • Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual and psychosocial support needs
  • Evaluate learning needs of patients and families and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances
  • Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients

Required Qualifications

  • Current Tennessee RN license or compact state RN license with proper Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire
  • Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 7 days of hire
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 3 months of hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 3 months of hire
  • Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of previous nursing experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
