Registered Nurse (RN) Inpatient Med/Surg unit - Full-Time Days

Texas Health Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical/Surgical inpatient unit. This full-time day shift position offers the opportunity to deliver comprehensive nursing care in a fast-paced, high-volume department within a 900-bed MAGNET-designated, Level I Major Trauma facility.

Clinical Setting

The Medical/Surgical unit is a dynamic environment that serves diverse patient populations. Texas Health Dallas is recognized for excellence in cancer care, cardiology, emergency medicine, neurosciences, orthopedics, senior care, women's services, and neonatal intensive care. The unit emphasizes shared governance through an active Unit Based Council and engaged leadership team.

Schedule

• Full-time position
• 36 hours per week
• Day shift: 7 AM to 7 PM
• Self-scheduling available to support work/life balance

Responsibilities

You will deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process:

• Assess patients and plan individualized care
• Implement appropriate interventions and evaluate their effectiveness
• Incorporate age-specific safety and infection control measures into patient care
• Initiate action to meet patient and family information needs
• Maintain continuity of care across shifts, between hospitals, and during out-of-hospital transfers
• Practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act
• Serve as a role model and collaborator within intra- and interdisciplinary teams
• Coordinate quality patient care delivery

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited nursing program or diploma from a nursing program
• One year of experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program
• Active RN license in Texas
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI) certification, maintained annually with 90-day requirement
