Wilson Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for Infection Control to join the Infection Prevention & Employee Health team. This role is critical to maintaining a safe, compliant, and high-quality care environment for patients, staff, and visitors. You will report directly to the Director of Quality and serve as a key resource for hospital leadership, department managers, and medical staff.
Clinical Setting
This position is based at Wilson Medical Center, a community hospital within the Lifepoint Health network. You will work Monday through Friday on a full-time, in-person schedule.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and evaluate the hospital's infection prevention and control strategies, policies, and programs
- Conduct surveillance, data collection, analysis, and reporting of healthcare-associated infection data
- Oversee cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and aseptic technique practices across the facility
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and accrediting agency standards
- Perform new-hire health screenings and manage employee exposure follow-up
- Provide education and serve as a resource to staff, leadership, and medical providers
- Support development of employee health and infection prevention initiatives and annual program evaluations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required (degree in progress considered)
- Four years of acute care hospital experience
- Current RN license to practice in North Carolina
- Professional Infection Control Certification required within 1 year of hire or transfer
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous infection prevention experience
Compensation and Benefits
This position offers a $20,000 commitment-incentive bonus.
