Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU Nights

Wellstar is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on the night shift. As an RN Clinical Nurse Critical Care, you will be a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team providing individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. You will practice within a clinical environment supported by the Wellstar Shared Governance Model and Professional Practice Model, guided by evidence-based practice and research.

Responsibilities

• Perform the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practice and critical thinking to ensure individualized care
• Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care adapted to population-specific characteristics and cultural diversity
• Partner with patients and significant others through bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, patient teaching, and goal-focused care planning
• Practice using current clinical practice standards
• Coordinate delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care through diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods
• Demonstrate fiscal responsibility and support recruitment and retention of healthcare team members
• Participate in performance improvement, research utilization, and shared governance activities
• Complete initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and required mandatory education
• Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses and students
• Promote evidence-based practice and nursing research; participate in value analysis and product evaluation
• Uphold all organizational policies, procedures, and clinical competencies in compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements
• Participate in data collection and evidence-based practice initiatives
• Proactively plan for patient care across the care continuum
• Participate in development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes
• Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources
• Comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (Single State or Multi-state Compact)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited/approved school of nursing with requisite clinical hours
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Basic computer skills and ability to optimize technology to support clinical care
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with excellent customer service abilities
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a decisive, composed, and respectful manner
• Excellent time management skills
• Evidence-based nursing practice with strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Education

• Associate degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred)

Licenses and Certifications

• RN - Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - Multi-state Compact
• BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - American Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support Instructor
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ARC-ALS - American Red Cross Advanced Life Support or ACLS-I - ACLS Instructor or ACLS-P - ACLS Provisional (must be obtained within 180 days)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Direct patient care experience
