The opportunity

Job Description

Family First Healthcare Services is seeking a Registered Nurse for home health care in Florida. In this role, you will provide skilled nursing care to patients in their homes, including private residences, assisted living facilities, and other care settings. You will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized care plans, oversee medication administration and wound care, and educate patients and caregivers on disease processes and treatment plans. You will use electronic medical records to document care in compliance with agency standards and facilitate communication between patients and the interdisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing assessments and establish individualized care plans based on physician orders
  • Oversee medication administration and wound care treatment as prescribed
  • Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and caregivers
  • Educate patients and caregivers on disease processes, medications, and treatment plans to promote self-advocacy and independence
  • Document all care timely and accurately using the electronic medical record system in compliance with agency standards
  • Facilitate communication between patients and the interdisciplinary team

Clinical Setting

Care is provided in clients' living environments, including private homes, independent or assisted living facilities, and institutions such as hospitals or long-term care facilities. You may be required to respond to emergency situations. The position involves potential exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and other potentially infectious material.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Active Registered Nurse license in Florida
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid guidelines
  • Working knowledge of home healthcare principles, professional nursing techniques, and required documentation
  • Organizational skills and knowledge of time management and management processes
  • Ability to contribute to quality of care through constructive communication with nursing managers and staff
  • Computer proficiency and EMR documentation experience
  • Current criminal background check clearance
  • Current CPR certification (in-person certification required; online certification not accepted)

Preferred Qualifications

  • One or more years of experience in a community or home health agency setting
  • Experience with ALORA Plus EMR system

Schedule and Employment

Full-time, part-time, and per diem positions are available. The scheduling team works to accommodate your preferred visit schedule and availability.

Physical Requirements

You must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Corrected visual and hearing acuity is required. Travel is required for this position.

Additional Requirements

Level II background screenings will be completed on all applicants.
