MCO Homecare Services LLC is seeking an experienced Georgia-licensed Registered Nurse to provide skilled in-home nursing assessments and care. This PRN, per-visit position focuses on home assessments, wound care, and tunneled pleural catheter management, including PleurX catheter drainage. You will work independently in clients' homes throughout the Duluth, Atlanta, Buford, and surrounding communities.
Clinical Setting
You will provide care in clients' homes, serving patients who require skilled nursing assessments, wound care, and pleural catheter drainage. All services must be performed according to current physician orders, the approved plan of care, manufacturer instructions, infection-control standards, and agency authorization.
Responsibilities
- Complete initial and follow-up nursing assessments
- Drain and monitor tunneled pleural catheters as ordered, with hands-on competency in procedures such as PleurX catheter drainage
- Use sterile or aseptic technique and follow infection-control procedures
- Assess catheter sites, drainage characteristics, client tolerance, and respiratory status
- Perform authorized wound care and dressing changes
- Monitor client condition before, during, and after each procedure
- Recognize and promptly report complications, abnormal findings, or changes in condition
- Communicate with the agency, client, family, physician, and other authorized healthcare professionals
- Provide appropriate client and caregiver education
- Complete accurate clinical documentation within agency deadlines
- Clock in and out through WellSky for assigned visits
- Perform only services supported by your RN training and competency and authorized by MCO
Required Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Georgia RN license or qualifying multistate license
- Experience with home-care or home-health nursing assessments
- Wound-care experience
- Relevant experience or demonstrated competency with tunneled pleural catheter drainage
- Current CPR/BLS and First Aid certification
- Current TB clearance
- Current physical or health clearance
- Professional liability insurance
- Valid driver's license and current auto insurance
- Reliable transportation to clients' homes
- Ability to pass required background and employment screenings
- Ability to work independently and complete timely clinical documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with PleurX or similar tunneled drainage catheters
- Home-health, pulmonary, hospice, oncology, or post-discharge nursing experience
- Familiarity with WellSky or another electronic visit-verification system
- Availability for recurring visits when ordered
- Spanish-speaking or bilingual ability
Schedule and Employment
This is a PRN, per-visit position with immediate availability preferred. No visit, schedule, or number of hours is guaranteed. Assignment approval depends on final service authorization, verified competency, completed credentialing, client availability, and MCO Homecare Services LLC's written approval. The contract term is 3 months.
