The opportunity

Job Description

AMG Specialty Hospital - Central Indiana Hancock Campus is seeking full-time Registered Nurses for all shifts to join our newly constructed unit. This is a specialty hospital focused on managing complex medical needs in an acute care setting with a high staff-to-patient ratio.

Clinical Setting

AMG Specialty Hospital - Central Indiana Hancock Campus is part of a top-5 post-acute care hospital system. The newly constructed 2nd floor unit is located in Greenfield, IN at Hancock Regional Hospital. The hospital specializes in the management of complex medical conditions and uses a multidisciplinary approach to return patients to their optimal level of well-being.

Patient Population and Responsibilities

You will provide direct and indirect patient care in the acute care setting. Common medical conditions treated include respiratory failure requiring ventilation, vapotherm, high flow, BiPAP, CPAP, and nasal cannula support. Depending on patient complexity, care may include sedation and pain management, pressor management, and cardiac or anti-arrhythmic management. You will also care for patients with complicated infections requiring long-term IV antibiotics and chronic non-healing wounds requiring extensive treatment with wound vacs and frequent dressing changes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care in the acute care setting
  • Communicate with physicians and coworkers about changes in patient clinical condition, diagnostic study results, and symptomatology
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment
  • Perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision

Required Qualifications

  • Active Indiana Registered Nurse license
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Basic computer knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

  • ICU, critical care, or medical-surgical nursing experience
  • National nursing certifications

Compensation and Bonuses

  • Hourly pay up to $45 per hour based on years of experience, ICU experience, and national certifications
  • Shift differentials paid for all night and weekend shifts
  • $10,000 sign-on bonus or tuition reimbursement offered with a 2-year minimum commitment employment assistance agreement
