Registered Nurse (RN) Fellow - Operating Room

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Fellow to join the Operating Room team. This position is designed for experienced nurses looking to transition into perioperative nursing. The OR Fellowship program begins March 1st, 2027, and completion of the fellowship is required upon start. Eligible nurses qualify for sign-on and relocation bonuses.

Clinical Setting

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is a community hospital with 8 operating room suites serving a diverse surgical population including robotics, general surgery, orthopedics, spine, plastics, ENT, urology, and gynecology. The OR operates 24/7 with call team support on off-shifts and holidays. The environment is fast-paced with emphasis on strong teamwork and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination with understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team needs
• Conduct all patient care in a patient and family-centered manner
• Use an integrated approach toward patient outcomes
• Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery
• Attend and participate in all learning sessions assigned for successful completion of the Registered Nurse (RN) Fellowship

Required Qualifications

• One year of Registered Nurse clinical experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing. If you hold an Associate's Degree (ADN), you must complete a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) within 5 years of the start date.
• Active RN license or eligibility to practice as an RN in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Basic Life Support certification with American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of Acute or Critical Care Registered Nurse experience
