Registered Nurse (RN) Fellow - Level 2 Trauma Operating Room

Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Fellow to join the Operating Room team on a full-time basis. This position is designed for experienced nurses looking to transition into perioperative nursing and will include completion of a comprehensive OR Fellowship program. The Spring 2027 cohort begins March 1st. Eligible nurses qualify for sign-on and relocation bonuses.

Clinical Setting

The Perioperative Services Team supports 8 state-of-the-art operating suites, two special procedure rooms, and advanced surgical technology including the robotic-assisted daVinci Surgical System and MAKOplasty Total Hip and Knee systems. The facility features 16 private pre-operative rooms and 14 post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) bays. In addition to regularly scheduled surgeries, the department is staffed for emergency surgery 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Surgical services include trauma, general, breast, colon-rectal, gynecology, urology, orthopedics, podiatry, neurosurgery, ENT, vascular, thoracic, maxillofacial, and plastic surgery.

Responsibilities

• Provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team needs
• Conduct all patient care in a patient and family-centered manner
• Use an integrated approach toward patient outcomes
• Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery
• Attend and participate in all learning sessions assigned for successful completion of the Registered Nurse (RN) Fellowship

Schedule

Full-time, day shift position.

Required Qualifications

• One year of Registered Nurse clinical experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing. If you hold an Associate's Degree (ADN), you must complete a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) within 5 years of the start date.
• Active RN license or eligibility to practice as an RN in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Basic Life Support certification with American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of acute or critical care Registered Nurse experience
