Inova Loudoun Hospital's Labor & Delivery unit is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Fellow to join the team in a full-time night position. This role is designed for nurses early in their careers who are ready to develop clinical expertise in labor and delivery nursing under the mentorship of experienced RN preceptors.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments to collect basic data and identify patient care needs
- Follow written plans of care, standards, and practice guidelines under the supervision of an experienced RN
- Organize, prioritize, and deliver patient care to assigned patients using Inova's Nursing Professional Practice Model and Care Delivery Model
- Implement procedures, therapies, tests, and patient education to achieve desired patient outcomes
- Monitor patients' progress toward expected outcomes and adjust plans of care accordingly
- Provide compassionate, empathetic hands-on care while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality
- State rationale for clinical decisions based on educational knowledge, principles, and evidence-based practices
- Work efficiently within the healthcare team to achieve maximum productivity and identified outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing, or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with commitment to complete BSN within 5 years of start date
- RN license or eligibility to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery
