The opportunity

Job Description

AdventHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department on night shifts. This full-time position offers a $15,000 sign-on bonus and is based in Zephyrhills, Florida.

In this role, you will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. You will conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, and monitor patient responses to interventions. You will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality emergency care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Perform accurate documentation within the electronic medical record
  • Demonstrate proficiency in clinical skills, multi-tasking, and professional bedside manner
  • Provide leadership and solve complex problems within the unit

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Basic Life Support - CPR certification
  • Associate's degree in Nursing
  • Skills required to work in critical care area as defined by unit
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills with ability to navigate Microsoft Windows-based programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Mental and emotional stability, demonstrating a courteous and calm approach to all contacts with patients, visitors, and healthcare team members
  • Mature judgment and ability to handle confidential information
  • Personal qualities including kindness, compassion, understanding, integrity, respect, sense of humor, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Ability to work as a team player within a unit
  • Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
  • Ability to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes
  • EKG knowledge based on patient population

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Experience in a specialty area
  • Previous experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record
  • Previous EKG Interpretation Class
  • EPIC experience
  • Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification
  • Fundamentals of Critical Care Support (FCCS) certification
  • Basic EKG Certification (BEKG)
  • Acute/Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CCNS) certification
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification

Schedule

  • Full-time, night shift position

  • Pay range: $31.85 - $52.76 per hour
