Registered Nurse, RN - Educator, Operating Room

Lowell General is seeking a Registered Nurse Educator for the Operating Room to promote excellence and innovation in nursing care. In this full-time position, you will contribute to the growth and development of nursing staff through education activities and facilitate the application of nursing theory to clinical practice consistent with all regulatory agencies.

Schedule

40 hours per week, full-time, day shift

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of all educational activities and utilize data for future programming
• Collaborate with leadership and staff to develop and evaluate educational programs
• Develop content and strategies to meet learning needs
• Coordinate orientation of nursing staff to the organization and unit
• Provide educational opportunities that benefit nurses at all stages of their career
• Deliver competence-based programs for nursing staff with a focus on improvement of skills and retention of knowledge
• Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programming
• Evaluate and make recommendations about performance improvement issues relevant to areas of nursing practice and patient care
• Encourage and promote collaboration between staff members and hospital departments
• Act as a role model for clinical excellence and promotion of professional practice
• Assist in clinical problem-solving and the development of critical thinking skills
• Maintain a current level of clinical expertise
• Collaborate with leadership to recommend educational strategies for the implementation of clinical standards
• Consult with staff regarding individual learning needs
• Respond to changes in nursing practice and develop programs to support those changes
• Lead committees and projects related to the implementation of educational activities

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license
• 3 years of RN experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Health Administration, Nursing, Business Administration, or another related field

Skills and Abilities

• Advanced capabilities in the diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of human responses to actual or potential health problems
• Ability to be organized and systematic
• Ability to prioritize and simultaneously work on multiple tasks and projects
• Basic Microsoft Office computer skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods of time

Compensation

Base pay range: $91,879.42 - $117,150.49 based on full-time equivalent. Individual offers are determined using a comprehensive approach that considers relevant experience, certifications, education, skills, and internal equity.
