REGISTERED NURSE - RN ED

This is a 13-week travel contract position for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at a Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. You will work in a 54-bed Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center that treats over 60,000 patients annually. The ED provides comprehensive emergency medical services to all age groups and operates 24/7 with a team of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and support staff.

Clinical Setting

The Emergency Department maintains nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:1 with critical and trauma patients to 1:3-4 with other patients. You will be expected to float to other units and hospitals as needed.

Schedule

This position offers 36 or 48 hours per week with mid and night shift options:

• 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM, or
• 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Every other weekend is required. Holidays are required as scheduled.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing
• 2 years of experience working under the highest level of professional license
• 2 years of experience in a large hospital setting
• Trauma experience required
• Active Registered Nurse license for the State of Alabama or Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted)
• NURSYS registration

Required Certifications

• AHA ACLS
• AHA BLS
• AHA PALS or Red Cross equivalent
• NIH certification
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• SECURE certification (on-site)
