Wellstar Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Critical Care Unit at Cobb Hospital. This full-time night shift position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, individualized patient care in a fast-paced critical care environment supported by an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers.
As an RN Clinical Nurse in Critical Care, you will practice within the Wellstar Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice framework, guided by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and American Nurses Association standards. You will work under the direction of Nurse Managers and other leaders within the Wellstar Shared Governance Model.
Responsibilities
- Perform the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practice and critical thinking to ensure individualized, coordinated patient care
- Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care adapted to population-specific characteristics including age, gender, disease, and cultural diversity
- Partner with patients and significant others through appropriate methods such as bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and patient teaching to keep patients informed and focused on their goals
- Practice using current clinical practice standards
- Coordinate delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care through diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods
- Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner and promoting a respectful, inclusive clinical environment
- Participate in and support performance improvement, research utilization, and shared governance activities at all levels
- Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population-specific education
- Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses and staff or students from all disciplines
- Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement
- Participate in data collection and pose relevant clinical questions to advance evidence-based practice
- Proactively plan for patient care across the care continuum
- Participate in the development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes
- Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources
- Comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct

Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing program
- Active RN license (Single State or Multi-state Compact)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or BLS Instructor certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (Instructor or Provisional level)
- Minimum 5 years of direct patient care experience
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with excellent customer service abilities
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a decisive, composed, and respectful manner
- Excellent time management skills
- Evidence-based and analytical nursing practice with strong critical thinking skills
- Basic computer skills and ability to optimize technology to support clinical care
