Alternate Solutions Home Health in Columbus is seeking a Registered Nurse Clinical Manager to provide clinical oversight and management of home health services. This hybrid role transitions to office-based work after an initial 90-day training period and requires previous home health experience with staff supervision.
You will oversee all personnel and patient care services, ensuring quality and safe delivery of home health services while monitoring compliance with clinical processes and state scope of practice requirements. You will serve as backup to the Administrator/Director of Nursing as needed.
Responsibilities
- Ensure quality and safe delivery of home health services
- Collaborate with intake to provide daily direction and manage referral volume based on staffing availability
- Provide oversight of liaison workflow to ensure timeliness of completion and identify education needs for field staff and liaisons
- Ensure Start of Care compliance and focus on assigned Outcome Monitors
- Implement quality improvement programs in the field
- Participate in liaison and administrative on-call rotation and patient staffing as needed to manage after-hours team needs and staffing issues
- Manage on-call calendar for internal and field staff
- Manage PTO, call-offs, and daily/weekly productivity reviews to ensure proper staffing coverage
- Complete field visits as needed
- Participate in managing costs by monitoring supply costs, overtime, staffing, bonuses, and visits per episode
- Collaborate with billing department to address authorization requests and ensure patient contact regarding authorization exceptions
- Perform new and ongoing liaison training as defined by the Administrator
- Manage staffing budget including overtime and bonus oversight; report budget exceptions to Administrator; process payroll entry for field staff bonuses; review and approve liaison timecards
- Provide Administrator/DON with objective data related to internal and field employee performance evaluations
- Maintain positive working relationships with referral sources including physicians, hospitals, skilled facilities, assisted living facilities, and families
- Assist with monthly Case Manager, Nurse, and Therapy meetings
- Review clinical documentation in accordance with agency protocol and Medicare/Federal guidelines
- Process complaint workflow and report staffing trends, neglect, abuse, or theft to Administrator for resolution and follow-up
- Complete field clinician check-in reviews in a timely manner
- Participate in in-service program development
- Consistently demonstrate core values and maintain professional appearance as a company representative
- Understand, implement, and practice agency policies and procedures
- Act as backup Administrator as needed
- Arrive at assigned location on scheduled work days and work according to designated hours and on-call requirements in office and field nursing responsibilities
Management Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of field staff
- Interview, hire, train, and terminate department personnel
- Provide consistent coaching and opportunities to direct reports
- Supervise direct reports with consistency and clarity of expectations
- Complete yearly evaluations in an accurate and timely manner
- Perform coaching, counseling, and discipline as needed
- Work with direct reports to ensure employee satisfaction and resolution of issues and concerns
- Manage timecards
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM to 5:00 PM
- Weekend on-call rotation required
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three years of experience as an RN or PT in an acute care setting
- Previous home health experience
- Previous experience supervising staff
- Strong critical thinking skills with ability to problem solve clinical needs

- Valid driver's license and auto insurance
- Knowledge of ASHN billing, authorization, intake, clinical review, and workflow processes
- Dexterity and vision to complete documentation on computer
- Ability to utilize computer and phone continually to maintain constant contact with field staff, physicians, referral sources, internal staff, and other departments
Education and Licenses
- Current RN or PT license in the state of employment (RN is strongly preferred)
- Maintain active RN or PT license in state of employment
Preferred Qualifications
