Registered Nurse (RN) – Chestnut PACU

Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Chestnut PACU team at Chestnut Surgical Center at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. This role provides perioperative nursing care within a Magnet-recognized hospital environment. The PACU prepares patients in the pre-operative area for surgery and provides care during post-surgical recovery for outpatient operating rooms. The patient population is primarily pediatric, with some adult, inpatient, and outpatient patients. The RN will also be cross-trained in Motility and Endoscopy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients in the pre-operative area for surgery
• Provide nursing care to patients during post-surgical recovery in the PACU
• Care for a primarily pediatric patient population, with some adult patients
• Support both inpatient and outpatient surgical patients
• Work within the Chestnut Surgical Center outpatient operating room environment
• Provide safe, patient-centered care throughout the perioperative experience
• Cross-train in Motility and Endoscopy
• Collaborate with the surgical and perioperative care team to support quality patient outcomes

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification
• Active Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Critical care experience
• Pediatric experience
• Motility or Endoscopy-related experience

Schedule

• Full-time position
• 40 hours per week in 10-hour shifts
• Monday through Friday, rotating days
• Schedule hours may rotate between early and later start times
• No weekend requirement
• No on-call requirement

• Hourly pay range: $41.82 to $66.30 (midpoint $54.06)
