MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Chemical Dependency OB Unit. This is a 0.75 FTE position working 12-hour night shifts. You will provide specialized nursing care to patients in our obstetric and chemical dependency services, utilizing a multidisciplinary approach within a 388-bed acute-care hospital serving Puyallup and East Pierce County.
Clinical Setting
Good Samaritan Hospital is a comprehensive acute-care facility featuring a Family Birth Center, Level III Trauma and Neonatal ICUs, Level I Trauma Rehabilitation Center, Children's Therapy Unit, and 24-hour Emergency Department. The hospital includes innovative facilities such as the LEED Gold-certified Dally Tower and Pulse Heart Institute.
Responsibilities
- Organize and prioritize patient care by delegating, delivering, and evaluating nursing interventions on an ongoing basis
- Utilize nursing education and experience to deliver nursing care using the nursing process according to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols
- Collaborate with the nursing team to facilitate overall improvement in quality of care, patient experience, and cost reduction
- Foster a learning environment for patients, families, nursing staff, and members of the healthcare team
- Advocate for ethical and holistic care promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, or obtained within five years from the initial date of hire (RN with 15+ years of service or internal candidates hired before January 1, 2021 may satisfy this requirement in lieu of an education agreement)
- Registered Nurse license in Washington State or multi-state licensure endorsement (MSL)
- Current BLS Certification
- ACLS, NALS, PALS, TNCC, or NRP certification as required by facility or department
- One year of experience in acute care setting preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Nursing (MSN, PhD, DNP, ARNP)
- Certification in specialty area

- 12-hour night shifts

Compensation and Bonuses
- Pay scale: $48.15 - $90.83 USD per hour
- Pay is influenced by skill set, level of experience, and certifications and/or education
- Potentially up to $10,000 sign-on bonus for qualifying external candidates
- Potentially up to $10,000 relocation bonus depending on distance of move
- If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will reflect the appropriate step on the pay scale aligned with the applicant's years of experience
