Job Description

Join Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center's Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) as a Registered Nurse. This high-volume advanced heart failure center specializes in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgeries for both adult and pediatric patients. You will provide comprehensive patient care using evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

Clinical Setting

The CVOR is a regional leader in advanced surgical care, performing a high volume of LVAD implantation, mechanical circulatory support, heart transplants, and pediatric cardiac surgery. The unit also handles complex vascular and thoracic procedures. Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center is the flagship hospital of Atrium Health, distinguished throughout the Southeastern United States for excellent patient care and medical expertise. The hospital is a Level 1 Trauma center, Magnet-designated, and an approved transplant center for heart, kidney, pancreas, and liver. It serves as one of North Carolina's five Academic Medical Center Teaching Hospitals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process
  • Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Use evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making in patient care
  • Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
  • Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Cardiovascular Operating Room experience
