Registered Nurse (RN) Cardiovascular

North Alabama Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), a high-acuity, fast-paced environment dedicated to providing exceptional care for critically ill cardiac and vascular patients. This full-time night position offers the opportunity to develop advanced critical care skills while working with cutting-edge technology and a multidisciplinary team.

Clinical Setting

The CVICU specializes in the management of complex cardiovascular conditions, including post-operative open-heart surgery patients, advanced heart failure cases, and patients requiring hemodynamic monitoring and life-sustaining therapies. You will work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments
• Document patient care and monitor patient condition, communicating with the care team, physician, patient, and family
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
• Coordinate patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs
• Provide patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients
• Participate in performance improvement and continuing education
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in Nursing
• Current Alabama RN license or eligibility for licensure
• BLS certification

Schedule

• Full-time, 3x12 hour shifts
• 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (night shift)
