Prisma Health is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for the Ambulatory Internal Medicine department at our Richland location. In this role, you will provide routine, standardized nursing care for patients under physician supervision in an outpatient clinical setting.
You will work day shift and be part of a care team focused on promoting wellness, restoring health, and addressing health-related situational problems for internal medicine patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care within established policies, procedures, and protocols in accordance with your state's regulatory scope of practice and Board of Nursing requirements
- Assess patients' needs and develop individualized plans of care based on current evidence-based ambulatory care nursing practice
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing protocols
- Coordinate and document patient care including assessments, education, medication administration, treatments, and safety measures
- Delegate tasks to healthcare team members based on patient needs and team member qualifications
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
- Communicate patient condition and concerns to other healthcare team members
- Educate patients and families on post-visit self-care tasks and integrate patient and family education throughout care delivery
- Provide a compassionate and therapeutic environment for patients and families
- Serve as a role model and participate in educating and mentoring care team members
- Attend department and organization meetings
- Complete annual and as-needed compliance training
- Practice safe and efficient use of supplies and resources
- Maintain a clean, safe, and caring environment
- Assume responsibility for professional development and continuing education
- May serve as a preceptor, unit champion, or participate in shared governance
- Adhere to all organizational compliance, policies, and procedures
Required Qualifications
- Current RN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State or current RN license in the state where you will work
- Associate degree in Nursing (ADN), RN diploma, or RN certificate
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
