Registered Nurse (RN) ALL SHIFTS

Westwood Village is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality nursing care to residents in our long-term care facility. As a staff nurse, you will work under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing to ensure residents receive excellent care while maintaining their rights, dignity, and freedom of choice.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to assigned residents
• Supervise and assign Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs) and other subordinate staff, including checking their work to ensure assignments are completed
• Assign break times and regular and special assignments to staff
• Administer parenteral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous injections
• Administer medications within the scope of RN licensure
• Maintain current records of narcotics received and used
• Review daily documentation of controlled substances and narcotics dispensing
• Verify inventory of drugs covered by controlled substances laws
• Place pharmacy orders and administer newly prescribed medications with documentation
• Perform direct contemporaneous charting during your shift
• Chart detailed and timely evaluations of each resident reflecting their condition and progress
• Notify appropriate persons of significant changes in resident condition or hospital transfers
• Ensure resident care plans are being followed and assess each resident's status according to their care plan
• Round with physicians as needed
• Administer or supervise treatments prescribed by physicians, including pressure ulcer care, Foley catheter care, hot and cold therapy, and intravenous therapy (within scope of practice)
• Supervise prescribed diets and fluid intake; immediately report any issues to the physician and Director of Nursing/Assistant Director of Nursing
• Maintain knowledge of individual care plans and support the care planning process by reporting observations of resident needs, preferences, and behavioral changes
• Provide wound care as needed
• Complete medical records documenting care provided while maintaining strict confidentiality
• Maintain infection control and standard precaution practices
• Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment and supplies
• Report hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, and supply issues to appropriate persons
• Maintain resident comfort, privacy, and dignity; interact with residents in a manner that displays warmth and respect
• Answer and respond to call lights promptly and courteously
• Assist with new admissions, readmissions, and room transfers
• Communicate effectively and tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed

Physical Requirements

• Regular walking to various locations around the facility while pulling or pushing carts
• Work mostly in resident care areas and occasionally in outside weather conditions
• Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop
• Regular talking and hearing required
• Potential contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses

Schedule

• All shifts available
• Rotating shifts required
• Holiday and weekend work required
• Work during inclement weather may be required

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay: $60,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has direct supervisory responsibilities for Certified Nurse Aides and other assigned personnel. You will safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of all residents under your care by following applicable laws, regulations, and established nursing policies and procedures.
