Registered Nurse (RN), Adult Gen Med/Diabetes

MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Adult General Medicine/Diabetes department. This part-time position offers 12-hour day shifts and provides safe, cost-effective patient care using the nursing process within the scope of registered nursing practice.

Clinical Setting

You will work in the Adult General Medicine/Diabetes department at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center, providing direct patient care and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop written plans of care using assessment data
• Implement and evaluate patient care, revising as needed
• Ensure safety and risk management in patient care delivery
• Contribute to staff development and unit performance
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and other healthcare professionals
• Maintain strong interpersonal communication and customer service
• Participate in unit, department, and hospital initiatives
• Maintain current skills roster documentation

Schedule

• Part-time position
• 12-hour day shifts
• Every other weekend work commitment required
• Available to work and be scheduled any day of the week

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay range: $50–$73 per hour
• $5,000 signing bonus available to external hires new to MemorialCare employment (contingent upon satisfaction of employment requirements)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required unless waived by nurse executive council review
• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required for all areas
• Completion of unit orientation and clinical competency validation prior to patient care assignment
• Completion of pre-employment drug screening
• Completion of pre-employment criminal background reference check
• Completion of pre-employment health evaluation including TB screening and annual or bi-annual re-evaluation as indicated by Employee Health

Preferred Qualifications

• One year minimum experience in pediatric and/or women's hospital

Additional Certifications

• Additional certifications required within 6 months of hire or transfer into the department (specific certifications not listed in posting)
