Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Adult Emergency Department in Augusta. This full-time day shift position offers the opportunity to provide quality nursing care to adult patients in a fast-paced emergency setting while working as part of an integrated healthcare system.
Clinical Setting
You will work in the Adult Emergency Department at Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center, serving as a frontline member of the patient care team and intermediary between patients, families, providers, and other care team members.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, examine, and evaluate patient conditions and assist with developing and implementing care plans to promote short and long-term patient outcomes and wellbeing
- Deliver safe and effective care according to hospital policies and procedures, applying independent judgment where appropriate
- Collaborate with and communicate patient care plans with other staff members
- Prioritize and coordinate optimal daily patient flow and patient experience
- Maintain appropriate documentation of patient assessments, changes in condition, care delivered, patient education, and any incidents or exceptions related to standards of care or hospital policy compliance
- Listen to patient and family concerns, probe to understand needs, and respond in a timely manner
- Serve as an educational resource for patients and families on health-related issues
- Communicate necessary patient information to family, licensed care providers, and other staff in accordance with confidentiality standards
- Embrace patient- and family-centered care to maintain patient, family, staff, and physician satisfaction
- Seek opportunities to improve work environment and processes, contribute ideas to identify solutions, and support change implementation
- Support and contribute to performance improvement initiatives aligned with better patient quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, staff satisfaction, and organizational financial performance
- Maintain professional licenses and certifications and complete all required training
- Self-identify and self-manage training and development opportunities
- Keep current with research literature and industry best practices
- Foster the growth and development of other nurses through mentorship and preceptorship
- Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment
- Adhere to all confidentiality, safety, and professional standards
- Participate in peer feedback processes and hold self and others accountable for practice
- Positively promote the nursing profession and assist with recruitment
- Comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct
- Perform other duties as assigned
Schedule
- Full-time, day shift
- 36 hours per week (three 12-hour shifts)
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred)
- Active RN license (single state or multi-state compact)
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support Instructor, Basic Life Support, or American Red Cross Basic Life Support)
Compensation
- $10,000 sign-on bonus available
