St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Acute Rehab Unit on a part-time days schedule. This role provides direct and individualized nursing care to patients in a rehabilitation setting, supporting individuals with physical, functional, or neurological impairments as they recover and regain independence.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a rehabilitation unit at a nationally recognized community hospital with an "A" Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group and recognition in Becker's list of "Great Community Hospitals."

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions and progress
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, and rehabilitation exercises
  • Coordinate care and collaborate with therapy and medical staff to meet patient goals
  • Provide patient and family education related to rehabilitation, safety, and wellness
  • Promote a safe environment, follow infection control policies, and use PPE appropriately
  • Participate in patient discharge planning and ensure continuity of care
  • Respond to emergencies and act within the RN scope of practice and policy
  • Support hospital mission, goals, and performance improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or compact license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Clinical nursing experience
  • Previous experience in rehabilitation or medical-surgical settings

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of rehabilitation nursing principles, functional recovery, and chronic condition management
  • Critical thinking and clinical judgment in patient assessment and care planning
  • Ability to adapt to diverse patient needs and age-specific considerations
  • Effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Strong documentation and computer skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and promote a positive team environment
  • Physical capability for lifting, moving patients, and standing or walking for extended periods
