Wellstar is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Acute Care Stroke Unit on a part-time day shift. As a Clinical Nurse, you will be a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team providing individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. You will practice within a clinical environment guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, evidence-based practice, and the Wellstar Values, while upholding the standards of the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics.
Responsibilities
- Perform the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practice and critical thinking to ensure individualized, coordinated patient care
- Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care adapted to population-specific characteristics and cultural diversity
- Partner with patients and significant others through bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and patient teaching to keep patients informed and focused on their goals
- Practice using current clinical practice standards
- Coordinate delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care through diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods
- Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner and supporting recruitment and retention of healthcare team members
- Participate in and support performance improvement, research utilization, and shared governance activities
- Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population-specific education
- Serve as a preceptor and mentor for other professional nurses and students to ensure a qualified workforce
- Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement
- Uphold all organizational policies, procedures, clinical competencies, and regulatory requirements including TJC Patient Safety Goals and Wellstar Health System safety standards
- Participate in data collection and evidence-based practice activities to address clinical questions
- Proactively plan for patient care across the care continuum
- Participate in development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes
- Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources
- Comply with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct
Schedule
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing or graduation from an accredited/approved school of nursing with requisite clinical hours
- Active RN license (Single State or Multi-state Compact)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or BLS Instructor certification
- Less than 1 year of direct patient care experience or completion of accredited/approved nursing school with requisite clinical hours

- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Direct patient care experience
