Registered Nurse (RN)- Acute Care- Cardiac Telemetry

Wellstar is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Acute Care Cardiac Telemetry unit on the night shift. In this role, you will provide individualized, high-quality, safe patient care as a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team. You will practice within a clinical environment guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, evidence-based practice, and the Wellstar Shared Governance Model.

Clinical Setting

You will work in an acute care cardiac telemetry unit within the Wellstar Health System, one of Georgia's most integrated health systems. The environment is administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders who support professional nursing practice.

Responsibilities

• Perform the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practice and critical thinking to ensure individualized patient care
• Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care that is adapted to population-specific characteristics including age, gender, disease, and cultural diversity
• Partner with patients and significant others through bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, patient teaching, and keeping patients informed with their goals as the focus of the care plan
• Practice using current clinical practice standards
• Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model
• Participate in diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods including rounds and case reviews
• Complete timely documentation and promote a respectful, inclusive clinical environment
• Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner and supporting recruitment and retention of healthcare team members
• Participate in and support performance improvement activities, research utilization, and shared governance at all levels
• Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population-specific education
• Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses and staff or students from all disciplines
• Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement
• Participate in value analysis and other decision-making processes for evaluating patient care products
• Uphold all healthcare system and organizational policies, procedures, and clinical competencies including legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements
• Participate in data collection and pose relevant clinical questions to advance evidence-based practice
• Proactively plan for patient care across the care continuum
• Participate in the development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes
• Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources
• Comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (Single State or Multi-state Compact)
• BLS certification (Basic Life Support or American Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS Instructor)
• Completion of an accredited or approved school of nursing with requisite clinical hours
• Licensed and knowledgeable in nursing practice as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act
• Adherence to the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association

Education

• Associate degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred)
