Wellstar Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Acute Care Cardiac Telemetry unit. This is a night shift position where you will provide direct patient care to individuals with cardiac conditions in a monitored acute care setting. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver individualized, high-quality, safe patient care guided by evidence-based practice and the Wellstar Professional Practice Model.

Clinical Setting

You will practice in an acute care environment administered by Nurse Managers and supported through the Wellstar Shared Governance Model. The framework for practice is steered by evidence-based practice and research standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practice and critical thinking to ensure individualized care
  • Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care that is consistent with population-specific characteristics and reflects understanding of cultural diversity
  • Partner with patients and significant others using appropriate methods such as bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and patient teaching to keep patients informed and focused on their goals
  • Practice using current clinical practice standards
  • Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model
  • Participate in diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods including rounds and case reviews
  • Complete timely documentation and promote a respectful, inclusive clinical environment
  • Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner and supporting recruitment and retention of healthcare team members
  • Participate in and support performance improvement activities, research utilization, and shared governance at all levels
  • Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, required mandatory education, and population-specific education
  • Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses and staff or students from all disciplines
  • Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement
  • Participate in value analysis and other decision-making processes for evaluating patient care products
  • Uphold all healthcare system and organizational policies, procedures, and clinical competencies including legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements
  • Participate in data collection and pose relevant clinical questions to advance evidence-based practice
  • Proactively plan for patient care across the care continuum
  • Participate in the development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes
  • Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources
  • Comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license (Single State or Multi-state Compact)
  • BLS certification (Basic Life Support or American Red Cross Basic Life Support)
  • Completion of an accredited or approved school of nursing with requisite clinical hours

Education

  • Associate degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred)
